"Wings of Design" PROJECT

We would like to inform you that an additional call for companies to submit applications in the "Design Wings" project is being published until 3rd of july, 2022. We invite you to take advantage of the opportunity to implement the changes in the design of products, communications or processes required by the company within a period of 5 months with the help of a free designer service and design expert consultations.

The purpose of the project is to encourage very small, small or medium-sized companies to create and implement new design solutions using the creative potential of beginning designers, thereby increasing the added value, supply and competitive advantage of products manufactured or services provided by companies, and contributing to the environmentally friendly, digital and sustainable recovery of the country's economy .

The non-financial value of the de minimis support, which will be allocated to one company during the implementation of the project, is equal to 26,285 EUR. A company that lacks opportunities to employ design specialists for the development of products or services is given the opportunity to receive free services of a qualified designer and mentor (expert) consultations for the creation and implementation of new design solutions for a period of 5 months. Designers will receive scholarships and mentors will be paid by the "Design Wings" project. Representatives of companies participating in the project will be invited to deepen their knowledge of various topics, including those related to the circular economy, digitalization, etc. in training.

Potential applicants are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that:
  • operates for more than one year and is registered in the Register of Legal Entities;
  • has an income (at least 50 thousand euros on average over 3 years);
  • periodically submits reports to responsible state institutions;
  • did not receive funding under the measure of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation "Creative Checks for COVID-19" etc.
Advantages of the project:
  • simple application filling in the electronic system;
  • exceptional training;
  • the opportunity to receive design expert services and consultations;
  • implement product, communication or process design changes required by the company;
  • simple settlement of achieved results (one report).

The evaluation of applications will consist of several stages: administrative verification, expert evaluation and final decisions.

Applications can be filled out electronically on the project's website www.dizainosparnai.lt until July 3, 23.59. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Companies that submitted applications in the previous round of the call cannot participate in this call.

Attention! At this stage, free design expert consultations are organized for potential applicants on possible competitive and sustainable design solutions that would benefit a specific business enterprise. The consultation day, which will be held remotely, consists of a short project presentation and a presentation on how to add value to business through design solutions, followed by a one-on-one business consultation session with design experts. The duration of one individual consultation is up to 15 minutes, consultations will take place remotely via the Zoom platform, registration is required (links will be sent only to registered participants).

Consultations will take place in 2022. June 27:
1:00 p.m. to 1:05 p.m. Brief presentation of the project (Gabija Vanagė, head of the "Design Wings" project)
1:05 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. presentation "Design solutions that create benefits and value for business" (Audronė Drungilaitė, head of the Design Innovation Center of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, consultant of the "Design Wings" project);
1:20 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. audience question session for the "Design Wings" project team;
1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. individual 15 min. duration consultations. Consultations will be provided by design experts from various fields (to be specified later).
