INTERINSTITUTIONAL CONSULTATION WITH THE KLAIPĖDA SEAPORT AUTHORITY AND THE LITHUANIAN ASSOCIATION OF SEA-CARGO COMPANIES ON THE POSSIBILITIES OF DIVERSIFICATION OF FREIGHT MARKETS

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Ministry of Economics and Innovation (EIM), LTG Cargo AB (LTGC), Klaipeda State Seaport Authority. (KVJUD), AB Lietuvos paštas, Lithuanian Association of Stevedoring Companies (LJKKA), Lithuanian National Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics Lineka, Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK), Lithuanian National Association of Road Carriers LINAVA, Transport Innovation Association (TIA) ).

During the meeting, the comments on the concept of the MoU project “Preparation of an Action Plan on Diversification of Logistics Chains” and the distributed questionnaire were discussed.
Lithuanian transport and logistics sector; maintaining and increasing competitiveness;

  • Non-increase of KSSA and LTG tariffs;
  • The need to stabilize geopolitical relations;
  • Amortization of financial losses to business;
  • The need to develop new products;
  • Market diversification opportunities;
  • Dialogue between public authorities and the sector;


DESISION:
To ask the representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Lithuania, the national sector business and the associated structures of the country to fill in / revise the distributed questionnaire by 2022. January 13
Hold an inter-institutional summit with business to stabilize the sector (proposed in January 2022).
To mediate in the organization of a meeting of representatives of the associated structures of the sector with the Ministry of Finance to discuss topical issues (proposed in January 2022).
To ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to include representatives of the sector in the weekly meetings of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on the solution of economic issues.
Hold another interinstitutional meeting in 2022 In January.
Introduce the MoU management to the meeting memorandum.
