The main directions of the state's digitization development until 2030 have been outlined

On 16 November this year, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, during which the issues raised by the State Digitization Development Program were addressed.

The meeting (distance) was attended by the President of the Lithuanian National Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics E. Daukantas and l.e.p. Secretary E.Maškalaitė.

The government today approved the 2021-2030 report prepared by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. the State Digital Development Program, which provides the main directions for the development of innovative technological solutions for business and people.

"Digitalisation has a huge impact on economic growth, so we need to fully exploit the country's digitalisation potential. This program provides opportunities for the public sector to become more efficient, for businesses to be more competitive and innovative, and for the average population to receive more convenient and accessible digital services, ”says Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economics and Innovation.

The program aims to create opportunities for business and society to effectively create and use innovative products and services, to strengthen the ability of the population to use new technologies and to create conditions for the state to adapt to rapid technological change.

One of the key tasks set out in the document is to ensure efficient management of state information resources and interoperability of state information systems and registers. This goal will be achieved by promoting the process of consolidating the management of state information resources and moving to the centralized provision of IT services.

The program also pays a lot of attention to the state information systems, various artificial intelligence, data analysis principles operating e. design and development of services, tools and technological solutions. The program also includes measures to promote the availability of public sector data and increase digital skills.

Almost 450 million is planned for the implementation of the program. from the European Economic Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRF), the European Union Structural Funds and the state budget.
Following the successful implementation of the measures envisaged in the program, more than 80% of Lithuania will rise from 14th place in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) to 7th in the Digital Economy and Society Index and 11th to 6th in terms of data openness maturity.

The European Commission has set a target of fully digitizing and online access to all basic public services by 2030, with 80% citizens use digital identities, at least 80% 75% of the country’s population has basic digital skills, and 75% EU companies would use cloud and big data technologies.
